Abstract:A statistical analysis of earthquake activity triggered by earth tides in Hebei Province and its adjacent areas was conducted using Schuster's test on both daily and monthly scales, with tidal body stress as the basis for calculations. The results indicate that different regions exhibit distinct characteristics of earth tide triggering. In the boundary area of Shanxi,Hebei, and Mongolia, seismic activity is significantly triggered by earth tides on a monthly scale. In contrast,in the Hebei,Henan, and Shandong areas, seismic activity is significantly triggered on a daily scale. However, the correlation between earth tides and seismic activity in the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan area is minimal. Additionally, earthquakes in different regions and at different times are triggered by earth tides of varying magnitudes. Seismic activity of different magnitudes during different time periods within the same region also shows varying triggering characteristics related to earth tides.
